Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Limited Edition Wood Shaft The KURO KAGE™ Limited Edition (LE) Wood features an experimental full-length application of our premium Titanium Nickel (TiNi) Wire technology in an easy-to-hit mid to mid/high launching-mid spin profile. Made exclusively at our facilities in Toyohashi Japan the new KURO KAGE™ LE profile is based off of the recently released KURO KAGE™ XM and features the same two key technologies: Titanium Nickel (TiNi) Wire and Low Resin Content (L.R.C.) Prepreg. The 46-inch long full-length application of TiNi Wire is fortified with 40 Ton high-modulus Mitsubishi Rayon carbon fiber in the tip-section to reduce torque. The softer mid-section of KURO KAGE™ LE promotes higher launch while the addition of the full-length TiNi Wire provides enhanced stability and control throughout the entire shaft – critically important during shaft loading and unloading. The usage of full-length TiNi Wire also delivers increased feedback and enhanced feel. The KURO KAGE™ LE Wood with Full-Length TiNi comes in a stunning tone over ION plated finish. Titanium Nickel (TiNi) Wire Titanium Nickel (TiNi) Wire is a premium elastic wire that immediately springs back to original shape when stretched. Integrating TiNi with carbon fibers in the tip-section allows energy to be loaded and unloaded with great efficiency when the wire stretches while providing extra strength and stability to the tip. This allows for tighter shot dispersion even for players with a high swing speed. Low Resin Content (LRC) Prepreg Our Low Resin Content (LRC) prepreg with up to 15% more carbon fiber and 13% less resin than traditional prepregs allows us to create a higher density of carbon fibers without adding additional weight. The Result: Added strength with enhanced feel. Ion Plating The Ion Plating process creates a sophisticated premium finish that cannot be achieved just by applying paint. The shaft is put into a vacuum chamber where chrome or silver alloy ions are fused to the shaft. It’s a more costly time consuming process but it creates a stunning finish that we think is worth the extra time.
